Your driver meets you at Kochi airport or Ernakulam railway station. The road climbs from the plains into the Western Ghats, with stops at Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls and your first view of the tea estates. Check in and spend the evening at leisure.
Morning at Eravikulam National Park to see the Nilgiri tahr on the grassy slopes of Anamudi, South India's highest peak. After lunch visit the Tea Museum, then drive along Mattupetty Dam, Kundala Lake and Echo Point. Evening free for the town's spice and tea shops.
Drive down from the hills to Alleppey and board your private houseboat around noon. Cruise through narrow canals and across Vembanad Lake, watching village life on the banks. Lunch, evening tea and dinner are cooked fresh on board, and the boat anchors for the night by 5:30 PM.
Breakfast on the houseboat and check out by 9 AM. Drive to Kochi and, if time allows, see Fort Kochi's Chinese fishing nets and St. Francis Church before your drop at the airport or railway station.
